30 Week Update

I didn't do a 29 week update but not much had changed since 28 weeks. The nursery is about 2 weeks away from being completely finished. My mawma is going to sew some pillows and we are waiting on the changing table baskets to be embroidered and then we should be good to go and I will post lots of pictures then. My mom came and painted the green stripe Friday night and then D and I worked in there most of the day Saturday. The bookcase looks so good and I just love sitting in his glider looking around. Everything in his room has pretty much been designed or redesigned by me and Derek or my dad (of course). There are several things that we bought but then we repainted them or added to them so it's been a true labor of love. His bedding and curtains were custom made but we picked out the design and placement so it's truly everything we wanted in a nursery. I can't wait for you all to see it.

Yesterday morning was the first early service at church and it was simply amazing. Derek and I were so blessed to be in that service and we could feel the presence of the Lord all around us. Deacon enjoyed the music as he was quite the wiggle worm in the service. We left feeling so energized that we were on cloud 9 all day. We got a text from a church friend and she said there family had been in the best moods all day as well. We look forward to many more services just like that one.

Deacon and I go tomorrow for the Glucose Tolerance Test and we would appreciate your prayers. We will let you know the results as soon as we know. Our first prayer is that we pass the test and then in the event that we don't pass, which would mean I have gestational diabetes, we pray that we can easily manage the gestational diabetes until he comes into the world.

Ultrasound Update

So today we had our 4d ultrasound and we got some cute pictures but Deacon would not move his foot from in front of his face. She is going to do another ultrasound in 2 weeks to check his size and position so we will attempt to get a better picture then. He is approximately 3 1/2 pounds and measuring a week ahead. He is still breech. I failed my one hour glucose test so I have to take the 3 hour test on Tuesday.

Here are the pics. In one of them he has a little smirk on his face. The next time they want me to try a little caffeine beforehand because they couldn't get him to wake up this time and we will have better luck if he is moving around.

Nursery Update

Within the next 2-3 week the nursery will be complete and I will post pictures. I worked all weekend on a canvas for his room with a verse on it. It looks good now that it's done but it was a pain. My dad finished his bookcase unit and is delivering it on Wednesday. I can't wait. My mom is coming Friday to paint his stripe and chair rail. We are taking his baskets for under his changing table to be embroidered this week. We then need a couple little things which I hope to get this weekend and then it will be complete. I can't wait to post the finished product!

The verse for his room is- If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139 9-10. We thought it was very fitting for his room because it is in the journal we are keeping for him. His room has nautical accents so we liked that it mentioned the sea. We know this verse will be fitting for his life. No matter where he chooses to go or what he chooses to do God will always be by side.

God willing and Deacon cooperating we will see his precious face on a 4d ultrasound tommorow afternoon. I have yet to cry at an ultrasound which is unlike me but I am just too amazed to cry. Tommorow that may all change. We have patiently waited since April 1st for this appointment as it has had to be changed twice.

May you all have a blessed week. We are 6 days away from our first Early Service at church so please be in prayer for us!

Friday Update

This has been a tiring week and I'm not sad it's over! Yesterday I went to the doctor and everything looked good with Deacon. I'm pretty swollen but they said as long as I don't have blurry vision or headaches then I should be ok. They just want me to rest with my feet up after work...which is hard for me to do.

I hosted Bunco last night at my house which was alot of fun. They had a surprise shower for me and Deacon got some amazing things. He is so loved already. Derek was amazing helping me set up for Bunco and then helping clean it all up. I couldn't have done it without him!

I have a church meeting tommorow and then Derek and I are hopefully going on a date. I will try and post a picture tommorow! It's crazy to think Deacon should be here in the next 11 weeks....ahhh!

Dearest Deacon,
Mommy and Daddy toured labor and delivery last night. We are hoping and praying that you decide to turn head down. You have the rest of your life to be a rebel. If you would just comply with this simple request life will be so much better for all of us. If you come into this world the normal way you and Mommy can snuggle as soon as you arrive. If not you and Daddy will have to leave me and go to the nursery for observation right away and I will miss you and Daddy so much! Little buddy- mommy has waited her whole life for you and I want to cuddle you right away! We will love you no matter what you decide to do!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Birthday Dinner Pictures

We went out to eat with both sides of the family Tuesday night. Here are the pictures:

Aunt Tay loves the belly but not so much the belly button....it grosses her out.

He is growing, growing, growing as am I. My face is starting to swell a little and no matter how much makeup I wear I still look a little pale but this too shall pass!

My last birthday just the two of us. We will celebrate D's birthday in May, Maddy's in June and then on to the most exciting birthday of the year!

Easter, Birthday, Baby

We had a good Easter weekend. Friday D was working so my mom and I went to the Good Friday service at church and it was amazing. It was very somber and reflective which we had been warned about. Celebrating the day of Jesus Crucifixion should be nothing less. As we left the service in silence I reflected on how though our hearts were troubled as we listened to the ways they beat and tortured our Saviour we knew the joy that Sunday would bring. On Saturday night we went to a Casting Crowns concert with some friends from church and they had a great message and it was very uplifting. We then had an amazing church service Sunday morning and a delicious lunch at my parents. We can't wait to celebrate Christ's Resurrection with Deacon next year.

Today is my 26th birthday and I don't feel much older. Derek had to work but he brought me a chocolate cake and a dozen roses home at 3 this morning so that was sweet. The card he got me made me cry because it mentioned the fun times the four of us would soon share (we include Maddy as a family member). I really enjoyed my 22nd year as it was the year I got married. My 23rd and 24th years are years I would rather forget as they were full of heart ache and pain. There were mornings I struggled to get out of bed because the world seemed too hard to face. I questioned God every day as to why he allowed hardship in my marriage and in my life. He remained steadfast and quietly whispered to me every so often in the still of the night that he would never leave me or forsake me. He reminded me that he was preparing me for a future only he could see. The future is now upon me and I have no doubt that the 26th year will be the best one yet. Welcoming Deacon into this world will be the best gift I have ever received. Derek and I haven't given many gifts to each other since finding out we were expecting because we know the best gift will be here in July.

Derek has a jury trial next week so we had to reschedule the 4d ultrasound for Tuesday, April 20th. He hasn't' missed one moment of this pregnancy, not one dr. visit or ultrasound, and I wasn't about to let him miss this monumental event. I wanted the first time we got a clear picture of his face to be shared together even if it meant waiting until he was born.

Dr. Appointment and Ultrasound

Today we had our doctor's appointment and ultrasound. We were going to do the 4d ultrasound but the ultrasound tech thought it would be better if we waited until our next appointment so we will be having that done on April 15th. I can't believe we are going every other week now! Deacon was moving like crazy in the ultrasound. He was holding his feet over his head at one point which was cracking us up. He measured about a week and a half ahead and weighed in at 2.8 pounds. The doctor told us not to be concerned with ultrasound measurements because they are often times a little off. We are thankful that he is growing big and strong. Little Deacon is still breech. We are praying that he will decide to move head down in the near future. We would love to be able to avoid a c-section but we know that it is in God's hands and he already knows the method to which Deacon will appear into this world.

The ultrasound tech thinks he may be smiling here- we aren't so sure!

After that we went to Anesthesia and signed up for the epidural and then enjoyed lunch out. Yesterday mom and I took our rocking chair cushion to be recovered as well as fabric to match his bedding for custom curtains and a cushion for the top of his toy box. As we planned this out with the seamstress we realized we needed more foam so Derek and I went to Hobby Lobby and got more today. When we dropped it off at her house she was done the chair cushion already. It was a nice surprise and it looked great. I can't wait to show you all the finished nursery. I have had a vision for this room since I found out I was pregnant and it is coming together so nicely. My mom, dad, Derek and I all have similiar decorating taste and we can see each other's visions pretty well. Once I described to them what I wanted they helped me get it all designed and worked out. I can't wait to see his bookshelf that my dad is building him!

Then we came home and Derek mowed and Maddy and I sat outside and read. I need some color on my body since it's time for capris and short sleeve tops!

Derek and I were talking about Deacon's dedication to the church this morning on the way to the doctor. We are going to wait to baptize him until he is old enough to make the decision on his own but we will dedicate him to the church and promise before God to raise him in a Christian home. We have so many dreams and aspirations for him. We patiently await his arrival so we can see how his life will unfold. He may be an all-star athlete, he may find the cure for cancer, he may graduate top in his class....however, as his parents nothing will make us more proud than the day he accepts Jesus as his Lord and Savior. God has been moving in our hearts very strongly in the past few months as we prepare for the start of a new service at our church and we can't for Deacon to have that passionate relationship with God in his own life. God bless you all!
