Praises

We have two big praises in our house this morning. First, we are in double digits! Only 99 days until Deacon's scheduled arrival! Secondly, at 2:30 a.m. this morning daddy felt his first kicks. We are so very excited! When Derek gets home from work he always plays a game on his phone to unwind. I told him to put his hand on my belly because he was kicking. As soon as he did Deacon became very still so Derek went back to his game. I rolled over and he went crazy again. So Derek put his hand back on my belly and felt 2 strong kicks! We were ecstatic! Have a great day!

25 weeks 4 days

Pregnancy Highlights- Week 25

How Far Along:
25 weeeks 4 days

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm not going to document this anymore. It really stresses me out. I know that my body is doing what it needs to do to successfully get Deacon to the size he is intended to be. I am experiencing swelling because I'm on my feet all day long so I know that some of it is water weight. I'm just going to enjoy the last 14 weeks of pregnancy without worrying about it and then work like heck to get it off when he's safely here! My doctor thinks that I have gained a perfect amount so I'm going with that.

Maternity Clothes: Yes! It was so nice to be able to wear some short sleeve shirts last week.

Best Moment this week:
Derek coming home, feeling Deacon move around, falling asleep with Derek's hand on my belly...I hope Deacon knows how much we love him already!

Food Craving: Wendy's frosty- I haven't craved many sweets but Sunday I was dying for a frosty

What I miss: Sleeping through the night, nice long hot baths

Sleep: Sleep is a thing of the past. I get up 4-5 times to use the bathroom and have been waking up at 4:30 and going in to work early because I can't sleep anymore

What I am looking forward to: Derek feeling him kick-I'm still patiently waiting for this and it's killing me! I can't wait for him to feel it!

Symptoms: I have started swelling pretty bad this week. It happens at the end of the day at work but usually goes away when I get home and get my feet propped up. Praise God the tailbone is better for now!

My parents are coming over tonight to put up Deacon's chair rail and I can't wait.

I had a blast on Sunday going through my friend Michelle's sons clothes. He was born last July so the sizes line up perfectly. She definately has my style! She had several halloween costumes with tags on them that she got last year when trying to decide on his costume so Deacon has 2 halloween costumes ready and waiting for him. He will be a pirate for the halloween party and hayride at church and a cow for trick or treating in our neighborhood. Maddy has a rooster costume that she never wore because we were undecided on her costume the first year as well. So they will be a cow and rooster.....too cute!

24 weeks 4 days

My sister keeps getting on to me for not taking more pictures to document the pregnancy. To tell you the truth I actually thought I would feel more attractive pregnant than I actually do. I have always seen pregnant girls and thought they were beautiful and I couldn't wait for that to be me. I just knew that I would want maternity pictures done and everything to document this blessed time. Although, it is a blessed time I don't feel attractive at all. It is hard to see your body changing so much all the while hoping that it will go back to normal one day.

Don't get me wrong-I cherish every moment that Deacon is being fearfully and wonderfully made inside of me. God has knitted him in my womb and for that I'm eternally grateful. I just look forward to the day I'm holding him in my arms while wearing my favorite pair of regular jeans!

Closet Dividers

I get so much inspiration from the internet. I follow many different blogs on a weekly basis and they give so many ideas on decorating, spirituality and most importantly mothering. My friend Jen and I follow alot of the same blogs and we are always talking about ideas we find on the internet. I can't wait until Deacon gets here so I can use some of these wonderful ideas with him.

One idea that I got from the internet was do-it-yourself closet dividers. Many of the women said they had clothes that there children never wore because they got lost in the shuffle of the closet. We have already bought Deacon clothes that go all the way up to 12 months. I don't want him to miss an oportunity to wear any of these so I thought it was a brilliant idea to divide his closet into sections by sizes so we know which outfits will fit him at each stage. It will also be perfect for when Daddy dresses him. This way D will know which section of clothes to choose an outfit from.

Here are mine:

Derek helped me paint these yesterday. I finished these up today when Derek left for Frankfort. It was a good distraction.
