Our Week

As I mentioned in my last post, last week we spent all week with Aunt Tay before she moved to Lexington. She spent the night with us every night and we went to eat lunch together every day. On Thursday, we had a special day with Amelia. It was alot of fun and we shopped until we dropped. It was fun buying a little pink for a change! Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures of the day!

On Friday night we went to BBQ on Barkley with Poppa, Mimmie, Uncle Chase and Aunt Tay. It was a nice night out and fun to walk around the booths and eat the carnival food. On Saturday Derek went out of town so Deacon and I shopped with Mimmie and Aunt Tay. Then Tay left on Sunday. We left Mimmie and Poppa's before she did so it wouldn't be so emotional. While we are sad we can't see her smiling face everyday we are glad she is following her dreams. Derek and I had so much fun in college and we want the same for her. We will be visiting Lexington lots! It will always be a special treat for Deacon when she comes to visit.

Last week was emotional in more than one way. Mimmie left the job she had for the past 11 years to change jobs so she could help keep Deacon. The board office was like family to her and she will miss each and every one of them. Deacon and her have big plans to meet the girls for lunch and catch up once she starts keeping him. He can hardly wait! We realize what a sacrifice it was for her to switch jobs. She has always been a selfless mother and now she is a selfless Mimmie. Deacon will be so blessed to always be in the care of someone who loves him so much. It certainly will make going back to work easier for me.

Deacon talking to Mimmie-She cracks him up! This was before BBQ on Barkley.

Aunt Tay's going away gift. Aunt Tay loves giving Deacon a bath so now she will have a constant reminder of him in her bathroom.

Such a big boy!
