Friday

I will do the pregnancy highlight post in the morning so I won't have two posts in one day.

Wednesday was Deacon's ultrasound. He looked so adorable. His heartbeat was 146 beats per minute and he weighed just over 11 ounces. From the looks of the ultrasound he is going to have longs feet and hands. It will be interesting to see when he gets here. He was drinking the amniotic fluid and we could see it on the ultrasound so that was very special.

Maddy got her hair cut today at a new groomer. She looks so adorable and we think we will continue going to this groomer. Maddy had a bad experience with her last groomer so we were glad today went well. Derek stayed with Maddy and held her while she got cut so hopefully she will get used to the groomer and do good next time. Maddy is very lucky to have a dad who would do that for her.

Derek and I have several things planned for this weekend but other than that we hope to relax and enjoy our weekend together.

Another Snow Day

Today was just another snow day. We got about 6 inches of snow so there was no way Derek would let me drive to work. We just hung out aroud the house and he took me to Princeton to see one patient while someone else saw my patients in Hopkinsville.

The bedding came in yesterday and we are so excited. As soon as I got home from work we put it up in the room. We are going to wait to post pictures until the nursery is completed.

There were some decorations at Hobby Lobby that we wanted for the nursery and we were waiting for them to go half off. They finally did this week so we braved the beginning of the snow storm to go to Hobby Lobby and get them. This was probably the first of many crazy things we will do for our kids.

Tommorow we have another ultrasound so I have the day off again tommorow. We are taking Aunt Tay, Granna, and Nana with us so we hope he cooperates. We will try and post those pictures if there are any good ones.

6 years ago today we found out that Jackson would be coming into this world the following day. Derek and I were eating at Long John Silvers and I can remember crying because I had an 8am test and I didn't want to miss any of the big day. I went home and emailed my professor to ask if I could take the test early. He still had not responded when I went to bed so I got up early the next morning (4:15 to be exact) to check my email and to my surprise he said he would meet me at the school at 6 a.m. to take the test. God must have really wanted me to get to the hospital. Most of the day was a blur but I do remember that UK was playing that night. I will never forget holding him for the first time. Although we clearly remember the moment we met the Boone's none of us can seem to remember when our lives became so intertwined. They are family to us in every sense of the word. Jackson and Amelia don't complete a family tree without including our family and we are sure Deacon will do the same. As Jackson says a family grows in your heart and there family certainly grew in ours.

6 years ago tonight I had a hard time drifting off to sleep in anticipation of meeting one of the most important little boys in my life the following day. Tonight I will have trouble falling asleep as I anticipate seeing another important little boy on an ultrasound screen tommorow. God blesed our lives the day Jackson was born and now he is blessing us with our own precious little boy and we couldn't be more grateful. Praise be to God!

Pregnancy Highlghts

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 19 weeks 1 day

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 9 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Yes! They are so much more comfortable

Best Moment this week: Spending time with Dustin and Ashley, going back to work after being sick

Gender: It's A Boy – Deacon Asher

Movement: Possibly a little something

Food Craving: Salads, chicken-n-dumplings, pineapples, strawberry frozen sorbet, milk and cereal

What I miss: Scalding hot baths and my old belly button- yes folks it's changing!

Sleep: I have been waking up at 4:00 a.m. every morning with million thoughts in my head

What I am looking forward to: Seeing Deacon on the ultrasound this week, my first baby Jackson's 6th birthday party, celebrating my mom's birthday

Symptoms: Occasional tailbone pain, very tired after work, my back started hurting this week as well

These weekly highlights probably won't interest most people but we are going to print this blog so we are using it as somewhat of a baby book. You can have your blog printed in book form so that's what we plan to do. I'm also keeping a journal of the pregnancy as well.

Today is a busy day for us. We have Jackson's birthday at 3:30 and then my mom's birthday dinner after that. It's hard to believe Jackson is 6 years old. He is the first little boy that completely captured my heart and I can't wait to have my own little boy. I hope and pray he is half as sweet as Jackson. Jackson has the kindest heart and is wise beyond his years. I love him more than I can even explain. I can't wait to spend this special day with him.

Deacon says a very special Happy Birthday to his Granna. That's right my mom and dad have names! Poppa and Granna. We know that Granna's birthday will be special today but it won't hold a candle to her birthday next year when Deacon is here to celebrate with her. Deacon will love you so much Granna-Maddy sure does! Speaking of which we have always called my mom MIMMY to Maddy and she gets so excited when we say Mimmy is here or we are going to see Mimmy. So when mom decided on Granna we said Maddy-Granna is here and she looked at us all like we had lost our minds and cocked her little head to the side. So we will be talking about Granna alot over the next few months to get her used to it.

Have a blessed Saturday.

Under the Weather

I made a trip to the doctor today due to some serious discomfort and was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and prescribed an antibiotic. We got back home from the doctor and the pain became almost unbearable so we called Dr. Anunciato back before she left for the day because then our only option would be going to the emergency room. She said the antibiotic would do nothing for the pain it was just treating the infection so she gave me a prescription for loratabs to ease the pain. I'm not a big medicine taker at all and have only taken Tylenol twice since becoming pregnant and nothing else. Derek and I researched it online and prayed about it before going to get the prescription filled. I took one loratab and it eased the pain enough that I was able to lay down and sleep for about 4 hours. Our hope is that I will only have to take them today and tomorrow and then hopefully the antibiotic will start to kick the infection. I would never take medicine that I thought would harm Deacon in anyway. The pain was so intense that it was making me feel very panicy that something was bad wrong and I was becoming very stressed out and we know that isn't good for him either. I will be at home resting again tomorrow. We covet your prayers that the pain would subside and the medications would have no adverse effects on Deacon. We have 100% trust and confidence in Dr. Annunciato and believe she would never prescribe something that isn't necessary. The nurse we talked to also took these while pregnant due to kidney stones and everything turned out fine. This pregnancy has gone great so far and we look forward to getting this behind us.
