Saturday

It has been another uneventful week but I've been so tired lately that I don't have the energy to post. I like to be up and at work by 7 a.m. so I leave my house a little after 6. I've tried sleeping in but I just can't because I like to get to work and see what's facing for me the day so I'm always dragging when I get home.

Last night Derek went out with the guys and I had girl's night out with Kristin and Lisa. My mom, dad, and Taylor kept Kristin's 2 kids and I think it prepared for them for life with little boys as they are 2 and 13 weeks. I'm not sure who had more fun- the boys, the girls, or my parents and the kids. The girls went shopping and I got Deacon some adorable stuff at Gymboree. I'm going to start washing his clothes next week.

Today Derek and I went to Paducah to get some more things for the nursery and went out to lunch. We then came home and took a long nap. We are hoping to take Deacon's curtains to be made this week and his glider cushion to be recovered. The nursery is coming along nicely.

Tommorow Taylor and I are going with the Boones to see Beauty and the Beast. Derek was supposed to go but can't get off work so Taylor gladly took his ticket. We can't wait!

Update

Sorry it has been so long since we updated. The past week was super crazy. We ended the week by both going our seperate ways on Saturday. This doesn't happen very often but we always enjoy our time with others.

My mom, Jill, and I enjoyed a day of shopping in Evansville. We bought lots of goodies for Jackson, Amelia, and Deacon. We even made it home with something for Maddy and Derek. We enjoyed lunch at CiCi's pizza and shopped until we dropped. We managed to buy Deacon a Thanksgiving outfit (which my dad and Derek aren't crazy about) and a shirt and bib for his first birthday. When you find things like this at TJMaxx you have to snatch them up or they won't be there when you need them. We got him lots of other things as well including 4 pairs of shoes which Derek and I just love. We are big fans of little shoes. We ended the day at Once Upon A Child which is a consignment store for kids. We were in heaven in there and Granna bought Deacon some very cute things.

Deacon's Goodies:

Derek spent the day at home with Maddy and then went to a Wild Game Supper that night with my dad, Michael, and the kids. It was at Jill's parents church in Crittenden. They enjoyed all kinds of different types of wild game and great fellowsip. They were gone for over 5 hours and we were getting worried about them but they had a great time. They had lots of stories to tell when they got home but none were as animated as Jackson's.

We missed Taylor and Chase on these two outings but they only get to see each other every other weekend so we understood. We remember those days well. Taylor and I often comment that Jill is our long lost sister and when we are all together you would think the 3 of us are sisters (except for our hair and skin tones) Saturday definately felt like we were sisters and my mom was helping us shop for the grandkids. We all enjoyed helping each other find just what we needed. When we are all together it's hard to tell where our family leaves off and theirs begin. We truly believe friends can be every bit as close as family.

Pregnancy Highlights- Week 22

How Far Along: 22 weeks 3 days

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 13 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Oh Yes!

Best Moment this week: Feeling Deacon's kicks, shopping for Deacon, finding a changing pad and cover

Gender: It's A Boy – Deacon Asher

Movement: I've started feeling some kicks in there but none from the outside yet. I put my hand on my stomach when I feel it but I'm not very patient.

Food Craving: milk, orange juice, and dosidos

What I miss: sleeping on my stomach

Sleep: Still hit or miss-Deacon is pretty still all day but starts moving like crazy about 9 at night so I think sleep might be a thing of the past when he gets here-Aunt Tay has already offered to take the midnight shift!

What I am looking forward to: Girls night out Friday night, feeling Deacon from the outside, D feeling Deacon

Symptoms: My tailbone is much better this weekend. This has been a pretty good week as far as symptoms go.

My mom and dad are here painting the nursery as I write this and I can't wait to see it. Tay and I are just hanging out and D is sleeping...he had a rough night at work. I will post a sneak peek of the nursery later but I'm going to wait to post lots of pictures until it is done. Have a great day!

Valentine's Update

Derek and I had a very nice relaxing Valentines weekend. Saturday we relaxed all day and watched a movie. Then we went to my parent's house for dinner. They had a bunch of people over that we hadn't seen in awhile so that was nice.

Sunday we slept in and went to brunch and then watched another movie. We skipped church which is something we rarely do but I was beyond exhausted. We then got ready and went to church for a Valentine's dinner. This is one of our favorite events at church. We ate dinner with some good friends and enjoyed our evening.

Here are a couple pictures of us before the dinner:

Derek reminded me in my card that this was the last Valentines Day just us which made me a little sad. I can't wait for Deacon to join our family but I have cherished my time with Derek and know that there will be things I will miss. We know that next Valentines Day will be a whole new adventure!

Maddy and Deacon want to wish Nana a Happy Birthday!
