This weekend we bought some pictures for his bathroom. His bathroom is also the guest bathroom so we wanted it to stay nice but thought we should add some kid friendly accents so he would feel at home in there.
We also got the lion and the elephant. I think it will be so cute with a little lion hooded towel hanging on the towel rack.
We have also bought Deacon several outfits. I will just post a few of my favorites.
Derek loved the little monkey shirt and I think it will be sweet on him.
We thought he needed a little NIKE in his collection. So we got him some NIKE onesies in our favorite school's colors.
We have always said that if we had a boy we would want him to dress like a miniature Derek. I can't imagine anything more Derek-like than these little Calvin Klein shorts. Derek searched all over TJ Maxx for a little shirt to match them but we couldn't find anything so the search will continue. We can just picture them with a little polo.
This is our latest purchase and one of our most favorites. We weren't going to buy him swim trunks for this summer (he has some for the next 2 summers) because we don't think he will go out many times this summer except for boat rides as the sun is setting. We then decided that we would probably take him out during the day at least once or twice and he needed an outfit. This is probably the only outfit we will every buy full price at Gymboree but we couldn't resist. Derek and I are both bargain hunters by nature so this was a stretch for us. This morning we were both questioning what we were thinking buying an outfit full price that he will only wear once or twice but we are sure his first boat ride will be accompanied by lots of pictures! Nan asked us if we were going to get a matching suit for Maddy which we thought was a great idea!
These are just a few of our favorite things we have bought him in the last two weeks. We are sure there will be lots to follow! My mom and dad are hopefully coming this week to paint one of the pieces for the nursery. I am going to meet with the lady who is making the curtains for Deacon's room and recovering the glider. Then I will order the bedding and the extra fabric. Once we make some progress we will post nursery pictures. Stay tuned....
Love the blog! When it gets warmer, TJ Maxx will be eat up with short sleeve Ralph Lauren Polo shirts. That's where we buy all of Andrew's, and they are very cheap. I'll start doing a "Deacon-sweep" everytime I go to check it out! Love y'all!
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy for you....what wonderful parents you are going to make!!! That poor child will be so "rotten" that he'll certainly fit in with the rest of this "rotten" bunch :)
